I sketched this out a month or two ago. It’s one of an easy hundred others. Why I’m sketching all these questions and statements out is beyond me. It’ll turn into something bigger soon, I’m sure.

But I wanted to share this one because of all the parents complaining about how “scary” the forthcoming Where The Wild Things Are movie seems to be. A strange phenomenon that happened way back when the actual book came out, too.

I don’t know at what point some parents decide their children aren’t complicated, insightful individuals capable of processing concepts like “fear” and “fiction,” but it irritates the shit out of me. Talk to any kid– and I mean really talk to them, openly and honestly– and you’ll learn they’re a lot brighter than you and the culture at large thinks them to be.
