2012 Milwaukee Film Festival Poster

From July 1 until October 19, I spent my days (and some nights) working for the Milwaukee Film as Marketing Coordinator for the 2012 Milwaukee Film Festival. I was mostly there to use my brain and words, coming up with film category names, and writing things like press releases, blog posts, the weekly (and daily) newsletters, and a fair amount of the non-film description copy in the official festival program guide. And during the festival itself, I was responsible for most of what you saw posted on Milwaukee Film’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Before my gig ended, Blyth (incredible boss, filmmaker, Director of Marketing) handed me one of the gigantic posters from the festival (designed by Cathy B. of Loneshoe Graphics) and asked me to draw all over it. The photos below are the end result.

If we had to look back (but not in anger, ’cause Oasis will get mad), this year was spent doing a lot of work for other people. Different kinds of work. But in between all the scanning, saving, and waiting for approval/revisions on that work, we made stuff. Drawings. Paintings. Little ones. Big ones. And after one epic day of cleaning, we found some we never offered up, too. Which is why we’re here.

The following are the first batch of pieces we’re putting up for sale this year. Some of them are oldies we’ve shared, but didn’t couldn’t bear to part with until now. Most of them, however, are new pieces. And there are plenty more where that came from.

If you’re interested in any of them, drop me a line. We can talk turkey. Then we can talk business.

We painted a brand new batch for last week’s East Town Farmer’s Market, and here’s the lot that’s left. They’re $30 a piece (plus shipping & handling), so HOP OVER TO MY BRAND NEW ETSY PAGE if you want one.
(Ones that are sold will be marked “SOLD” beneath the image.)

Skull + angel wings + arrows + one-eyed thing = buy it!

Another skull! But with lots of arms & hands. Been drawing lots of those lately.

I can’t believe I actually have something with a pirate on it that HASN’T SOLD YET.
This totally embodies all that is America and Freedom. Right?

If you are a bald man in love with a dark-haired woman (or vice-versa), this is the record for you.

Tiger. Just a tiger.

You can make up your own story for this one. But it has a bird, two arms, and a dude in an old hat. Welcome to the things I can’t seem to stop drawing.

Okay. This one’s not exactly new. In fact, it’s a few years old. But we found it buried amidst our unpainted vinyl, and thought, where better to sell this than to you fine WordPressers.

Same goes for this one. A few years old, but still delicious. Just like fine wine, or Happy Meals.

This might be our favorite of the bunch. Why are we selling it? Because we like paying rent more than we like seeing our own work.

Oh man. This one’s got a few ghosties. Just think how great this would look on your wall! (Especially if you are Prince.)

And while we’re here, I actually have three left from the last batch. They’re the three below, and frankly, I’m tired of seeing them around here.
